Several species of whales migrate to the warmer waters around the island, particularly around Mirissa, to avoid the colder temperatures. The season for whale watching in Mirissa is from November - April.
The boats leave the harbour at 6 AM and you’ll be back by 10/11 AM. Boats embark early in the morning because the water gets choppier just before noon, making it harder to spot any marine life.
Along with a camera, sunglasses, a hat, and water, we suggest you take medication if you’re prone to motion sickness.
We can organise your transportation to and from our hotel. We’ll even pack your breakfast or a snack to keep the hunger pangs at bay.
